This project involved creating an open-plan family room by removing a dividing wall between the kitchen and dining area. We coordinated closely with structural engineers to produce accurate calculations for the safe removal of the load-bearing wall and designed a new supporting structure to ensure stability and safety.
Throughout each stage, we liaised with the local authority to facilitate reviews and inspections, securing all necessary approvals and sign-offs for the project.
The works included the installation of a new kitchen, a multi-fuel stove and a restored fireplace sandblasted to reveal its original feature. Additional upgrades comprised underfloor heating, new electrical systems, updated flooring and comprehensive decoration throughout the new family room.
The client was delighted with the outcome, especially noting the full project management approach and the successful handover ahead of schedule. The result is a stylish, functional and modern open-plan family room that enhances the home’s comfort for the family.
